Emergency Protection Orders are available in Alberta to anyone who believes there is a real threat or to anyone who experiences violence by a family member and believes there is immediate need for protection. Such violence can include an act or threat of injury, property damage, forced confinement, sexual abuse, stalking, and use of weapons.
