Adult Interdependent Relationship Agreements
PROTECTING LEGAL RIGHTS AFTER BECOMING ADULT INTERDEPENDENT PARTNERS
Couples in Alberta can enter into agreements (known as adult interdependent relationship agreements) to protect their legal rights before or after they become Adult Interdependent Partners. These agreements are put into place to pre-emptively address matters such as support and property division if the relationship ends.
For these types of agreements to be legally binding, both parties must obtain independent legal advice and exchange full financial disclosure before signing.
At EBL Family Law, we will assist with the exchange of financial disclosure, draft your agreement and provide our clients with independent legal advice.
